Where is Ohana Excellence located?

We have two homes in Corona: Manitou Home at 18580 Manitou St and our newly opened Crown Ranch Home at 4308 Crown Ranch Rd. We serve families across Corona, Norco, Eastvale, Riverside and the surrounding areas.

How many residents live at Ohana Excellence?

Six. We're a licensed six-resident board and care home, not a large facility. That's a deliberate choice: it means your parent is one of six rather than one of a hundred, cared for by the same familiar faces every day rather than rotating agency staff.

What’s the difference between a board and care home and a larger assisted living community?

A board and care home is a residential house licensed to care for a small number of residents — in our case six. Larger communities can house well over a hundred. The practical difference for your family is attention: fewer residents per caregiver, consistent staff who know your parent's routines, home-cooked meals in a real kitchen, and a house rather than a wing of an institution.

What does it cost?

Rates start at $7,000 per month. What's included depends on the level of care needed, so the honest answer is that we'd rather talk it through than quote a number that turns out to be wrong for your situation. Call 714-595-8734 and we'll walk you through it.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept private pay and long-term care insurance. We don't accept credit cards.

Do you accept residents living with dementia or Alzheimer’s?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We accept residents living with dementia and Alzheimer's, and provide memory care support as part of daily life here. If you're unsure whether we're the right fit for your parent's stage, call us on 714-595-8734 and we'll give you a straight answer.

Do you offer short-term or respite stays?

Yes. We offer respite and short-term stays — useful if a family caregiver needs a break, or if you're recovering from a hospital stay and not yet ready to go home.

What happens if my parent’s needs increase over time?

Accepted Answer

We hold hospice waivers, which means a resident who transitions onto hospice care can stay with us rather than being moved somewhere unfamiliar at the hardest possible moment. To be clear about what that means: we don't provide hospice care ourselves, but we can continue caring for your parent while a hospice provider works alongside us.

We've been caring for residents at Manitou Home on Manitou St since 2023. We recently opened our second Corona home, Crown Ranch.

How do I know the home is properly licensed?

Accepted Answer

We're licensed by the California Department of Social Services, Community Care Licensing Division, as a residential care facility for the elderly. You can look up any California facility's licence and inspection record on the CDSS public search. We'd encourage you to check ours, and to check any other home you're considering.
